FIGURING OUT WHO IS IN CHARGE (DOG LANGUAGE) - 60 SEC Dog Training Tips # 2

In this 60 Second Dog Training Tips video, we discuss how to better understand your dog's language, and explain the different ways how dogs communicate with humans.

For psychological needs, the dog has to determine WHO provides the food and WHO has power over it. They have to ask these questions either passively, actively, assertively or aggressively.

For their safety needs, they need to know WHO provides safety. Their first response is flight, freeze or fight. So then, WE need to show that we provide for all their needs and respond accordingly, either passively, actively, assertively or aggressively ourselves. For this dog training tips video, let's try to better understand how dogs communicate with people.

We know that dogs communicate non-verbally using body language and also with sounds. This is different from people, as we mostly use speech to communicate, although our non-verbal communication is considered to be quite important as well.

For dogs, most of their body language communication involves tail motion and carriage, eye position, ear position, body position, facial expressions, and overall movement, as dogs often communicate visually by changing their bodies.

To summarise, a dog communicates primarily in 4 different ways:
1) Passively
2) Actively
3) Assertively
4) Aggressively

*** PS: I NEED YOUR HELP ***

My goal is to better the lives of #onemilliondogs in my lifetime. It is clearly impossible for me to do this on a one to one basis. I have seen that with around every thousand views on my videos, I get a comment or email thanking me and letting me know the video has helped. So working on that basis, I have to make videos on how to address every problem
behaviour and accumulate ONE billion views in order to help 1,000,000 dogs.

You can help me reach #onemilliondogs by (1) subscribing to my channel and (2) give this video a thumbs up - so YouTube suggests this video to more dog owners and we can help 1,000,000 dogs all over the world. Thank you so much!
