* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Slidell, Louisiana — On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the detail officer at Dillards (940 Town Center Parkway) was notified of a shoplifting in-progress. When the shoplifter, later identified as 34-year-old, Kelsey Baird (Navarre, FL), spotted the officer, she discarded the items that she was attempting to steal and tried to leave the store. Slidell Police Sgt. Jeff Kahrs attempted to stop Baird, who fled on-foot into the parking lot. Baird’s friend, 43-year-old, Eric Boudreaux (Biloxi, MS), was waiting in the parking lot and began honking his horn to indicate where he was at in the parking lot. As Sgt. Kahrs gave chase, Baird was able to get into the passenger-side of the car, and Boudreaux took off and fled. A Good Samaritan witnessed the events and realized that Sgt. Kahrs wasn’t near his patrol car. She offered Sgt. Kahrs a ride, to which Sgt. Kahrs graciously accepted. The citizen-officer duo safety followed the suspects, while Sgt. Kahrs gave a play to play to responding officers via his police radio. Moments later, several backup officers arrived and were able to take Boudreaux and Baird into custody.
