Teaching a dog to heel is a training that we do for the life of the dog, that is if you're going for a competitive heel. THIS IS NOT LOOSE LEASH WALKING.
Teaching the focus heel position is very critical in dog sports. I've competed in various obedience sports including, IPO / IGP / Schutzhund, AKC Obedience, and Mondio Ring Obedience... all require a precise position for the dog. In this short video I offer you some insights on rewarding ONLY from the correct position, particularly when you're dealing with a high Energy dog.
