Impulse control is everything! Bad things happen when we act without thinking - dogs are no exception. Prevention is truly key in conditioning your dog to think before acting through impulse control exercises like the three easy drills demonstrated in this video.

Impulse control with food can help curb counter-surfing or stealing food from little people.
Impulse control with toys can help dogs understand that we don't play with our teeth when skin is involved.

Impulse control with thresholds such as the crate can help dogs be in a better state of mind leading to better decision-making going from one area to the next (inside the crate to outside of the crate, inside of the house, to outside of the house, etc.).
