With over 9m followers, Humaid Albuqaish is one of the biggest social media influencers in the Middle East.
He has come under criticism because he owns a lot of exotic animals, including cheetahs, tigers, lions, hyenas, snakes and orang-utans.
DubaiLAD met Humaid to find out the truth behind how these animals are treated.
ABOUT: Humaid Abdalla Albuqaish is best known for being an Instagram personality. He shares photos and videos of his exotic pets and collection of supercars. He can be seen feeding his animals, wrestling with them and his big cats are free to pose on his Mercedes and Lamborghinis.
Humaid shows no signs of fear or distrust in his animals and is often filmed placing his hand inside their mouth!
In 2017, the UAE introduced a federal law banning the possession of predatory animals. It said only zoos, wildlife parks, circuses, and breeding and research centres were entitled to keep dangerous, wild or exotic animals.
"Possessing exotic animals and bringing them out into the public areas are strictly prohibited under the laws of Dubai. Violators can face a jail term of up to six months and a federal fine of up to AED 500,000 [$136,129] for the offence.
