Intro: Though many wouldn’t like to agree, we all love the company of pets around our homes, and close to seventy-five percent of the general population own a pet. Some even tame exotic breeds and keep them at home as pets without fear. Let’s take a look at the weird exotic pets kept by people. Would you adopt a snake for a pet? Stay tuned and see the lengths some of us go to, that they even sleep with their exotic pets in the same beds.! Yikes! If you don't have the guts, you should probably reconsider watching this..

10. Capybara

First on our list had to be an exotic pet that's unique to its kind. I mean, how large have you ever seen a rodent grow? The capybara is one of the largest rodents in the world. Just look at it, doesn't it look as large as your neighbor's dog? Its size is what has attracted many people to it. It's also rather furry, which makes it perfect for cuddles. It's a very active pet and can help you get in those workout steps you can't seem to hit in your workout target. It loves to run around chasing other pets or even children like it's a game of catch.
When summer arrives, and your parents let you swim in the pool, you're lucky you'll be lucky to have a playmate. The capybara, unlike other rodents, is semi-aquatic and loves to take a deep dive every so often. So the basics you'll need to have in your home are a home cage for them to sleep and rest when they're tired. Also, a pool because these animals don't go further than half a mile of a water body. Another thing in case you have a 9-5 job, please ensure that you buy two of them. So that they could keep each other company while you're away, Unless you want your exotic pet suffering from depression acting weird when around people.

9. Bat

Even bats can be domesticated, and a few nature lovers have established a lasting relationship with these tiny creatures. Waking up to the sight of a bat hanging upside down on my bedroom chandeliers just gives me the creeps, but I bet few exotic enthusiasts wouldn't mind. If you’re one of those guys, remember to keep your room dark cause these mammals don't like light.

8. Pot belly pigs

I know you’re probably salivating when you hear about a pot-bellied pig but today’s not the day for the non-vegans. If you were unaware, pigs are also kept at home as pets, especially the pot-bellied breed. Just like dogs, these breeds of pigs are equally intelligent and require similar care to the dog breeds. Awww! Who wouldn’t enjoy the company of such adorable creatures who crave affection and are also very social? If you're planning to get yourself one of these breeds, you’ll enjoy a decade or two long relationships with this clean animal. Unlike the picture, many have said that pigs are filthy, the potbelly pig is one clean fella who loves cuddles and outdoor walks.

7. Bengal cat

We've all heard of the Bengal tiger, which is a vicious predator, but very few people know about its close family, the Bengal cat. Yes, animal lovers, there was no way our list wouldn’t accommodate you. Loved for their vibrant colors and stripes, these little felines are the best.
Thanks to that person who introduced cat leashes because now you can take this majestic pet of yours on walks everywhere. They’re smart and require lots of activities to do while indoors. To make your Bengal cat even happier, you could rent a house with a big garden where it can come out to play in the grass whenever possible. I can say this is how close we can ever be to Mike Tyson with his actual Bengal white tiger.

6. Sugar glider

As the name suggests, the sugar glider is a tiny little pet that almost looks like a squirrel, just ten times cuter. This little exotic animal could fit perfectly on your palms. More interesting is how it can fly from any part of the room onto your hands. Now I'm wishing I had one of these, so I can show off to my friends who live by the pet norm of only having dog or cat pets.
The sugar glider is herbivorous and has a sweet tooth for all that sweet tree sap and nectar. So anytime you find that your pet is missing, try to look around your garden. He's probably hiding out somewhere satisfying his sweet tooth craving.

5. Hedgehog

Many people would scream when you tell them to get a pet with over a thousand spikes on its body but those of us who like to creep everyone out would get a hedgehog. It’s tiny, it's so stunning, and you don't need to get a cage or leash to walk around with it. All you need is a jacket with good pockets and you can easily fit the little fella in there.
